Britney Spears' ex-husband arrested after trying to crash her wedding
Jason Alexander, Britney Spears' ex-husband, was arrested on Thursday after attempting to disrupt her wedding to Sam Asghari. According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, Alexander was held by private security shortly after 2 p.m., before the wedding, at Spears' house in Thousand Oaks, California, according to CBS Los Angeles.
Deputies responded quickly and arrested Alexander on a warrant out of Napa. He is now facing further charges. CBS News has reached out to the sheriffs' departments in Ventura and Napa counties for more information and is awaiting a response.
In 2004, Spears and Alexander married in Las Vegas, but their marriage was dissolved 55 hours later.
On Instagram, Alexander live broadcast himself approaching Spears' home. The video was obtained by TMZ, which broke the news first. He made it inside the house and informed security that he had been invited by Spears. Then he started yelling for Britney.
"Where's Britney?" Alexander asks someone else outdoors in another segment of the film.
"My name is Jason, and I was her first husband. I've come to ruin the wedding "he declares He then finds his way into a tent that appears to be set up for a wedding ceremony. He continues to tell everyone who he is and that he was invited by Spears, despite the fact that he is there to crash the wedding.
Officers caught him, and his live stream was turned off. A photo of officers arresting Alexander on the ground was also obtained by TMZ.
Alexander had earlier in the day posted a video on Instagram demanding that everyone in Spears' life be probed.
Alexander was photographed at a "Free Britney" demonstration in 2020, when the pop star was struggling for her life.
